Brain Overload

There is no doubt about it, I have had brain overloads lately. I find myself just sitting here starring at the monitor. Am I thinking if you stare long enough the words will magically appear or do I expect the little fairy to come lift my hands and place them on the right keys and the words will come. . . it is happening again, just sitting here!! I am sure this is a sign of something, so I sit and wait.

After several attempts of posting, I realize my brain is in overload. I know this because I am also looking at a to do list, art that needs to be finished, a house that is beginning to look neglected, kids asking if I have ordered supper and a husband asking me why his work clothes were in the dishwasher!

These things happen when we don't have routines to follow. Even the kids were saying they were ready for school to start back so we would get back to a normal routine. Now what they call normal and I call normal are usually two different things, but atleast it is a routine.

While writing this entry in my blog, I have also been working on my to do list. I have crossed off a few things that I really don't need to do and added things that should have been there to start with.

Do you think anyone will really notice that I didn't clean the ceiling fans this month? Not if I keep them going!!

Added to my to do list for this week is mix up Chocolate Chip Cookie dough and rent a movie. The kids and I love to eat CCC dough with a spoon right out of the bowl while watching a movie.

Agreeing on the movie will not be easy. Have you ever tried to please a 16 yr old girl and a 17 yr old boy at the same time? If you have a movie recommendation, please share.

Having another brain overload moment, so I will take that as a sign it is time for bed.

Until next time. . .Create and have Fun!

Sebastien, Urs, Carlos & David

IL DIVO

You will find Sebastien, Urs, Carlos & David in my vehicle, kitchen, studio, and my bedroom!! I wake up with them, cook, clean, create and go to bed with them!!

This most handsome quartet sent from Heaven with formally trained voices take popular songs, old & new to another level between pop and classical music. The songs are not all sung in English, they flow between Spanish, English and Italian and if you don't speak the language I promise you, your imagination will understand every word they say. Their voices are so relaxing and calming that I find myself lost in whatever I am doing.

Some of my favorite songs are "Mama", "The Man You Love" and Frank Sinatra's "My Way" to name just a few. They share the lead throughout, combining to deliver choruses whose awesome power is matched by their tonal delicacy. Passion and restraint they show to be an irresistible aphrodisiac.

They have a DualDisc out that includes their original CD release plus the DVD with their performance at Gotham Hall in New York that I would love to have. They are working on their 2nd album and I can not wait. As you can tell I am in awe of IL DIVO.

Time for the boys and me to get back to creating.

Until next time. . .Create and have Fun!

Laughter and Tears

"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion . . . . I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward." ~Unknown

It has been one of those days. I did a quick scan of my website to make sure all the changes and updates I had been making were in order. I guess due to lack of sleep in trying to get everything done, I missed a few things and I had problems, not 1, not 2, not even 3!!!!!

Normally this would not be such a big deal for me, but today is different. My August newsletter went out earlier and then I am made aware of problem #1, which sent me to problem #2, then #3, and from there it was just a total wreak.

The next thing my kids hear is me laughing hysterically. Coming in to see what was so funny they saw me starring at my computer. Seth wanted to know if I had lost it!!! Kaycee being so girlish said of course she has not lost anything, she is trying to keep from crying!!! She had been just out of hearing range and was picking up on my frustration.

I told my kids there was nothing I could do but laugh and move on. So for the past several hours I have been working on the problems and suddenly remembered this quote that I had written down way back when and knew it was time to post to my blog.

Things could be worse and as one of my kids said, "Mom there is no blood or fire, so move on!"

Time for me to get back into the website and fix my problems. Hope to have everything back up and viewable later tonight.

Until next time....try laughing when you are frustrated.
